Privacy policy
SwapSkill is a simple notice board for trading skills between neighbours. This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect and what we do with it. Last updated: 9 October 2026.
What we collect
- Your phone number, so we can send you a sign-in code by SMS.
- Your profile details: name, photo, neighbourhood, skills, and a referral code if you choose to add one.
- Your listings: title, category, description, neighbourhood, and estimated hours.
- Nothing else. We do not track your location, and we do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To send you a one-time code when you sign in.
- To show your name, photo, neighbourhood, skills and listings to other members of SwapSkill, so they can propose swaps with you.
- For nothing else. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not share your details with anyone outside SwapSkill.
Where your data lives
- Your details are stored in a secure, private cloud database. Only SwapSkill members can see them.
- Photos are shrunk on your phone before they are uploaded, to keep the app light on slow networks.
- When you tap Share or Propose swap, WhatsApp opens with a message ready to send. That conversation happens in WhatsApp, on your phone — it is not sent through or stored by SwapSkill.
- Please be careful what you share once a conversation moves to WhatsApp.
Your choices
- You can edit your profile, skills and referral code at any time.
- You can delete your own listings at any time.
- You can sign out at any time. Signing out does not delete your profile or listings — if you want everything deleted, contact us and we will remove your account and all your data.
- The referral code is optional. You can leave it blank.
